La Spinetta 'Bricco Quaglia' Moscato d’Asti, Piedmont, Italy 2023 [375ml]
La Spinetta’s ‘Bricco Quaglia’ was the first single-vineyard Moscato ever produced in Italy, and it remains a benchmark for the category. From sustainably farmed vines in Castiglione Tinella, Giorgio Rivetti crafts a beautifully lifted, expressive wine that balances sweetness with electric freshness.
- WINEMAKER: Giorgio Rivetti
- FARMING: Sustainable
- VARIETY: 100% Moscato Bianco
- TERROIR: Sourced from the “Bricco Quaglia” vineyard in Castiglione Tinella, in the heart of Moscato country. The site sits at ~300 meters altitude on calcareous marl soils, with southeast exposure that promotes full ripening and aromatic complexity.
- VINIFICATION: Grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed, and fermented slowly in stainless steel under pressure using the Charmat method. Fermentation is halted at ~5% ABV to preserve natural sweetness and effervescence.
- AGING: Brief maturation in pressurized tanks; bottled young to retain freshness
- TASTING NOTES: Lively and perfumed, with aromas of white peach, elderflower, mandarin, and honey. The palate is delicately sparkling, with vibrant acidity balancing its sweet fruit core and floral finish.
