VARIETY: 100 % Viognier
- TERROIR: Alta Colina Vineyard, purchased in 2003 by Bob and Lynn Tillman. Acreage: 31 total planted, 2.54 acres Viognier, other varieties include Marsanne, Mourvedre, Syrah, etc. 1,800 ft above sea level on fractured shale.
- VINIFICATION: Grapes were destemmed and fermented with the skins for three days in small lots at moderate temperatures to highlight aromatics. Each vineyard lot was vinified separately, then blended before aging. Does not see malolactic fermentation and ages on the lees.
- AGING: Neutral oak barrels
- TASTING NOTES: Lots of floral qualities such as jasmine, chamomile tea and elderflower, as well as grated ginger, orange marmalade, nutmeg and lychee.
