Cave & Domaine Les Perrières Gamay, Genève, Switzerland
Established in the village of Peissy in the commune of Satigny — at the westernmost edge of Switzerland — Cave & Domaine Les Perrières traces its winemaking roots to 1794. Now in its eighth generation under the Rochaix family, the estate farms over 100 hectares across more than 15 grape varieties, balancing a deep respect for Geneva's viticultural heritage with current oenological knowledge. The domaine is regularly recognized at national and international competitions and is one of the most prominent estates within the AOC Genève.
- Winemaker: Frédéric Rochaix; Sébastien Schwarz (oenologist)
- Farming: Integrated Production (Swiss Federal IP standards); Guyot pruning; 80 hl/ha yield
- Variety: Gamay 100%
- Terroir: AOC Genève; vineyards in the commune of Satigny at 400–500 m elevation on clay soils. The Geneva appellation, set in the Rhône corridor near the French border, benefits from a continental climate moderated by Lake Geneva, with warm, dry summers and defined seasonal shifts.
- Vinification: Four-day cold pellicular maceration followed by carbonic maceration and traditional cuvage
- Tasting Notes: Intense ruby in the glass. Aromas of strawberry, raspberry, and red fruit. Fresh and tangy on the palate with a peppery, crisp character and lingering finish.
- Food Pairings: Aperitif, tomato-based dishes, melted cheese, charcuterie, poultry, veal, rabbit
