François Lumpp is one of Givry’s most respected growers, known for elevating this southern Côte Chalonnaise appellation to the quality standards of its northern neighbors. - TERROIR: From the monopole ‘Clos des Vignes Rondes,’ one of Lumpp’s highest-altitude white vineyards. The 0.57-hectare plot—two-thirds planted in 1985 and one-third in 1990—sits on a slope of clay-limestone soils that lend brightness and mineral precision. The vineyard’s elevation and exposure provide ideal diurnal swings for balancing ripeness with lively acidity.
- VINIFICATION: Grapes were hand-harvested and gently pressed. Fermentation occurred in barrel using traditional Burgundian methods to preserve freshness while building texture.
- AGING: Aged for one year in French oak barrels, 30% of which were new, to integrate subtle oak influence while maintaining purity and lift.
