M. Bonnamy Cabernet Franc Rosé Brut, Crémant de Loire, Loire Valley, France NV
M. Bonnamy is a Crémant de Loire range from the Alliance Loire group, made to offer dependable, everyday sparkling wine. The brand’s Brut and Brut Rosé are built on fruit grown on Loire limestone and vinified for freshness and aromatic clarity.
- Variety: 100% Cabernet Franc
- Terroir: Vineyards spread across the Loire Valley, totaling 61 hectares. Tuffeau limestone soils with some clay. Average vine age 25 years.
- Vinification: Hand-harvested fruit, gently pressed, and fermented cool at 18°C to preserve aromatics. The wine is assembled from the best lots, then undergoes a second fermentation in bottle by the traditional method.
- Aging: 12 months on lees before disgorgement, longer than the 9-month AOC minimum.
- Tasting Notes: A juicy, bright wine with an earthy edge that sits under the fresh red-berry fruit. The fruit is lively and the finish is dry, with the Cabernet Franc structure giving the wine some grip.
- Food Pairings: Charcuterie and pâté, where the dry finish cuts the fat. Grilled salmon or tuna with herbs. Roast duck or pork with cherries. Tomato-based dishes and fresh goat cheese.
