Pierre-Marie Chermette is among the most respected traditionalists in Beaujolais, crafting expressive, terroir-driven wines from old vines across the southern crus. At Domaine du Vissoux, he farms sustainably and works with native yeasts and minimal intervention to produce Gamay of precision and purity—balancing the charm of fruit with the depth of structure that defines true Fleurie.

- FARMING: Sustainable (lutte raisonnée); old bush vines farmed without chemical herbicides or fertilizers, harvested by hand at low yields.
- VARIETY: 100% Gamay Noir
- TERROIR: The ‘Les Garants’ climat lies on pink granite and sandy soils at mid-slope in Fleurie, one of Beaujolais’ most elegant crus. The old vines (average 50+ years) produce small berries that yield concentrated yet delicate wines marked by floral lift and minerality.
- VINIFICATION: Whole-cluster, semi-carbonic maceration with native yeasts in open concrete vats, followed by gentle pressing. Minimal sulfur used.
- AGING: Aged 6–8 months in large neutral oak foudres before bottling, unfined and unfiltered.
- TASTING NOTES: Highly aromatic, with violet, peony, raspberry, and cherry fruit over subtle mineral tones. The palate is fresh and silky, showing fine tannins, bright acidity, and a lingering stony finish. A classic Fleurie—graceful, perfumed, and vibrant.
