Istine Vermouth di Radda Rosé Vermouth, Tuscany, Italy
Istines Angela Fronti and the producers of Bordiga vermouth have joined forces to produce this organic Sangiovese-based vermouth. The rose hues come from the grapes skins themselves, rather than any additives or caramels.
18% ABV.
- Farming: Organic, certified.
- Winemaker: Angela Fronti; vermouth produced at Bordiga distillery
- Grape Varieties: Sangiovese
- Soil / Terroir: From single vineyard Cassanova dellAia in the village of Radda in the Chianti Classico zone. Rocky, clay with large swaths of albarese.
- Vinification: Fermentation with native yeast in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Base wine on skins for 12 - 16 hours before pressing.
- Aging: 6 months in stainless steel
- Tasting Notes: Beautiful pink color; aromas and flavors of wild strawberries, warming spices, and rose petal. Delicate with a beautiful bright finish. Istine Vermouth di Radda is a complex sipping vermouth, with floral and herbaceous notes. Drink straight with a chill, or serve with sparkling water and a twist of lemon.
Angela originally tried to make the vermouth herself but soon found that making wine and vermouth are two very different endeavors. She asked us to put her in touch with Bordiga, one of our talented spirits producers who specialize in vermouth. They were able to use her wine, vision and technical specifications to create a one-of-a-kind rosato vermouth that drinks just as well by itself as in a negroni or spritz.
