Located in the heart of the Anjou appellation, Domaine de la Bergerie has been family-run for eight generations. Now led by Anne Guégniard and her husband, David, the estate is recognized for its organic and biodynamic approach, crafting expressive Loire wines that reflect the limestone and schist soils of the region. ‘La Cerisaie’ is their classic Anjou Rouge—an elegant and juicy expression of Cabernet Franc with lift, freshness, and purity.

- TERROIR: The vineyards for ‘La Cerisaie’ lie on the slopes of the Layon Valley, where schist and limestone soils lend both structure and minerality. The site’s south-facing exposure ensures full ripeness while preserving the grape’s natural freshness.
- VINIFICATION: Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. A gentle maceration preserves purity of fruit and softens tannins.
- AGING: Aged in stainless steel and large neutral oak for several months before bottling to maintain vibrancy and express the terroir’s finesse.
- TASTING NOTES: The 2023 ‘La Cerisaie’ opens with aromas of red currant, wild cherry, and violets, accented by a touch of graphite and fresh herbs. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied, silky, and pure, balancing lively acidity with soft tannins and a long, mineral finish. A classic, beautifully balanced Anjou Rouge.
