- Sourced: Farmed in China. The Kaluga Hybrid is a hybrid of the Kaluga Sturgeon (Huso Dauricus; aka the 'Beluga' of the river) & the Amur Sturgeon (Schrenke) & is only farmed in China. They are farmed in lakes to mimic the depth & temperature of the Caspian Sea. When cross-breeding, the female is always Kaluga because they produce larger eggs than the Amur Sturgeon.
