Based in Saint-Romain, the Buisson family has farmed their steep, limestone slopes for eight generations, practicing certified organic viticulture since 2009. Today, brothers Franck and Frédéric Buisson craft wines that express both purity and texture, staying true to their family’s philosophy of minimal intervention and deep respect for terroir. Their Bourgogne Blanc reflects this ethos perfectly—a regional wine with remarkable complexity and finesse drawn from multiple Burgundian origins.
WINEMAKER: Franck & Frédéric Buisson
FARMING: Certified Organic
VARIETY: 100% Chardonnay
TERROIR: The 2023 Bourgogne Blanc is sourced from several sites: young vines on the cooler, northern slopes of Saint-Romain; high-altitude Bourgogne-designated Chardonnay from just outside the appellation boundaries; and fruit purchased from friends at Domaine Guillot-Broux in the Mâconnais, pioneers of organic viticulture since 1954. The mix of elevations and soils—colluviosols over limestone at roughly 370 meters—produces a wine that marries freshness, minerality, and depth.
VINIFICATION: Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts. Each lot is vinified separately before blending, allowing the individual terroirs to express their character.
AGING: Aged for one year in used 228-liter French oak barrels without racking, preserving both texture and clarity. Bottled with minimal sulfur.
TASTING NOTES: The 2023 Bourgogne Blanc offers aromas of white flowers, citrus peel, and sea spray. On the palate, it balances ripe orchard fruit from the Mâconnais with the tension and lift of high-altitude fruit from Saint-Romain. Fine acidity frames the wine’s saline minerality and long, elegant finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Perfect with roast chicken, grilled fish, creamy pasta, or mild cheeses. Serve around 12°C to highlight its freshness and subtle oak integration.
