Based in Festigny in the Vallée de la Marne, Champagne Thierry Fournier is a grower estate specializing in Pinot Meunier-driven cuvées that highlight the character of the Marne’s clay-limestone soils. The Rosé Lot 22 Brut is a multi-vintage blend, crafted from estate-grown fruit and finished with a small proportion of still red Pinot Meunier to give its delicate color and signature fruit lift.
- WINEMAKER: Thierry Fournier
- FARMING: Sustainable and HVE-certified (Haute Valeur Environnementale); grass cover between vineyard rows and hand harvesting ensure healthy fruit and soil preservation.
- VARIETY: Approximately 90 % Pinot Meunier, 10 % Chardonnay, with 5 – 8 % still red Meunier added for color and depth.
- TERROIR: Estate parcels in Festigny (Vallée de la Marne) planted on clay-limestone and chalk soils. The cool microclimate and mineral substrata provide tension, finesse, and a distinctive saline edge to the wines.
- VINIFICATION: Each varietal and parcel is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel. Partial malolactic fermentation softens texture while preserving freshness. A small amount of still red Meunier is blended into the base before tirage.
- AGING: Secondary fermentation in bottle following the traditional méthode champenoise, with 30 months of lees aging prior to disgorgement. Dosage: 6 g/L (Brut).
- TASTING NOTES: Pale salmon in color with fine, persistent mousse. Aromas of wild strawberry, redcurrant, rose petal, and brioche lead to a palate that’s vibrant yet creamy, balancing red fruit charm with chalky minerality and a crisp, refreshing finish.
- FOOD PAIRINGS: Ideal with salmon tartare, duck rillettes, sushi, or summer salads; equally perfect as an apéritif.
