Pioneers of alternative varieties in Australia, the Chalmers family has championed Mediterranean grapes like Aglianico since the early 2000s. This vibrant Col Fondo Rosado is a pétillant naturel–style sparkling wine made from Aglianico grown on the family’s sustainably farmed vineyard in Heathcote. Bottled unfiltered on its lees, it’s a wild, textural, and joyful expression of place and grape.

- FARMING: Sustainably farmed (NASAA Certified Organic in conversion)
- VARIETY: 100% Aglianico
- TERROIR: Grown in the ancient Cambrian soils of Heathcote, Victoria—rich in ironstone and clay, which lend structure and minerality to the wine.
- VINIFICATION: Hand-harvested and whole-cluster pressed. Fermented with native yeast in stainless steel and bottled before fermentation completed to create natural carbonation (col fondo method). Unfined, unfiltered, and undisgorged.
- AGING: Aged on lees in bottle; released undisgorged
- TASTING NOTES: Cloudy pink in the glass with a lively bead. Aromas of blood orange, wild strawberry, and crushed herbs lead into a savory, zippy palate with notes of rhubarb, grapefruit zest, and gentle tannin. A dry, mouth-coating finish lingers with salty freshness.
