- WINEMAKER: Martha Stoumen
-
FARMING: Sourced from two organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards:
- Vermentino: The Bench Vineyard, San Joaquin County (certified biodynamic), sandy loam soils
- Roussanne, Marsanne, and Muscat Blanc: Cecchini & Cecchini Vineyard, Contra Costa County, sandy clay soils
- VARIETIES: 30% Vermentino, 27% Roussanne, 25% Marsanne, 18% Muscat Blanc
- TERROIR: Mediterranean-like climate with cooling breezes and a mix of sandy loam and clay soils, contributing to the wine’s bright acidity and subtle salinity.
-
VINIFICATION:
- The Muscat Blanc was harvested earlier for freshness and underwent a brief maceration on skins before pressing and co-fermentation with the Roussanne and Marsanne in stainless steel tanks.
- The Vermentino was pressed immediately and fermented separately in stainless steel before blending.
- The blend was aged on fine lees for six months to enhance texture and complexity.
- Bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve purity, with some sediment expected.
- AGING: 6 months on fine lees in stainless steel tanks.
- TASTING NOTES: A vibrant and zesty wine with aromas of ocean air, lemon zest, and a hint of citrus hops. The palate is reminiscent of lemonade, complemented by a touch of salinity and a refreshing finish.
- FOOD PAIRINGS: Ideal with fresh seafood, light salads, or as a perfect aperitif on a sunny day.
