- Winemaker: Rob Fischer
- Farming: Sustainable
- Variety: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
- Terroir: Sourced from vineyards stretching to the northwest in Alexander Valley and southeast in Moon Mountain and Sonoma Valley. A combination of elevations, aspects, and soil types (alluvial, loam, volcanic) creating a blend that is truly reminiscent of classic Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon.
- Vinification & Ageing: In the cellar, hand-sorted grapes undergo an extended pre-fermentation cold-soak followed by primary fermentation in stainless steel. Following primary, the wine was transferred into mostly French oak barrels (about one-third new) for 18 months aging.
- Tasting Note: Strikes a great balance of savory and sweet immediately apparent in the espresso roast and savory herb components layered on top of rich blackberry, marion berry and cassis fruit. It has a supple tannin structure with high tones, opulent fruit, and a long, satisfying finish.
- Scores: 91, James Suckling ."Ripe, spiced and toasty cabernet with blackcurrants, blackberries, cedar, pine nuts and black olives. Full-bodied, structured and a little tight with a sandy texture to the tannins and a firm, slightly chewy finish.“
