Domaine Dugat-Py, a distinguished estate in Burgundy, is acclaimed for its rigorous organic farming and dedication to showcasing the unique terroirs of the Côte de Beaune.
WINEMAKER: Bernard Dugat-Py
FARMING: Certified Organic since 2003
VARIETY: 100% Pinot Noir
TERROIR: Sourced from the 'La Levrière' lieu-dit in Pommard, a 0.78-hectare Lieu-Dit parcel planted in 1946. The vineyard is situated adjacent to the château, featuring clay-limestone soils that contribute to the wine's structure and complexity. The name 'Levrière' refers to the stones historically transported to forge the Roman road from Chalon-sur-Saône to the Arrière-Côte.
VINIFICATION: Traditional Burgundian methods with no pre-fermentation maceration (cold soak), utilizing only the raw material without additives or corrections.
AGING: Aged 16 to 18 months in 80% new oak barrels and bottled unfiltered.
TASTING NOTES: While specific tasting notes for the 2022 vintage are not yet available, previous vintages have exhibited aromas of blackberries, wild plums, orange rind, exotic spices, and peonies. The palate typically presents a balance of concentrated fruit, firm tannins, and a lingering finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Roast white meats, meaty fish, dishes with red sauce, fried foods, or as an aperitif.
