Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey has rapidly ascended to become one of Burgundy's most celebrated and sought-after producers. The eldest son of renowned winemaker Marc Colin, Pierre-Yves established his own domaine in 2005 alongside his wife Caroline Morey, daughter of Jean-Marc Morey—two historic Burgundian winemaking families united. Based in Chassagne-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune, Pierre-Yves has earned international acclaim primarily for his mineral-driven Chardonnays, though he also produces exceptional Pinot Noir from select sites. His fastidious farming, incredible attention to detail, use of larger demi-muid barrels, and long élevage allow each wine to express a clear sense of terroir with remarkable purity and precision.

- TERROIR: Nuits-Saint-Georges takes its name from the town that gives the Côte de Nuits its identity. The appellation covers approximately 310 hectares divided by the town itself, with vineyards extending from the border of Vosne-Romanée in the north to Prémeaux-Prissey in the south. The terroir consists of deep marl-limestone soils with pebbly alluvium and silty deposits, sitting at elevations around 300 meters with east and southeast exposures. The limestone base, mixed with clay and marl, creates ideal conditions for Pinot Noir to develop intense color and structure. While Nuits-Saint-Georges has no Grand Cru vineyards, it boasts 41 Premier Cru sites considered to produce wines of exceptional quality.
- VINIFICATION: Grapes are sustainably farmed and harvested at optimal ripeness. Fermentation occurs with native yeasts following Pierre-Yves's minimal-intervention philosophy. The wine is vinified without fining or filtration to preserve its character and authenticity.
- AGING: Matured in 350-liter demi-muid barrels, Pierre-Yves's signature oak format since 2007. These larger barrels provide the wines with more energy and freshness while limiting oak influence, allowing the terroir to shine through. Extended élevage with no battonage preserves the wine's tension and purity.
- TASTING NOTES: This village-level Nuits-Saint-Georges expresses the appellation's characteristic power and structure with Pierre-Yves's elegant touch. Expect layers of red and black cherry, strawberry, and blackcurrant complemented by floral notes, hints of licorice, and earthy underbrush. The wine shows remarkable balance with bright acidity, fine-grained tannins, and a savory, mineral-driven core. Medium to full-bodied with excellent tension and aging potential of 10-20 years.
