Poderi Colla, a family-owned estate with roots dating back to 1703, is renowned for producing classic Piedmontese wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Langhe region. The 'Roncaglie' Barbaresco is crafted from the esteemed Roncaglie cru, recognized as one of the finest vineyards in Barbaresco.
- WINEMAKER: Tino and Federica Colla
- FARMING: Sustainable practices
- VARIETY: 100% Nebbiolo
- TERROIR: The Roncaglie vineyard is situated in the Barbaresco DOCG zone, with south/southwest exposure at altitudes between 240 and 280 meters. The soil composition and microclimate contribute to the wine's elegance and complexity.
- VINIFICATION: Grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and crushed. Maceration with the skins lasts for 12-15 days at a maximum temperature of around 30°C. Full malolactic fermentation occurs before winter.
- AGING: The wine is aged in Slavonian oak barrels for 12-14 months, followed by further refinement in the bottle before release.

- FOOD PAIRINGS: Ideal with red meats, feathered game, and mature cheeses.

SCORES:
- 96 points – Jeb Dunnuck: "Roncaglie is located in Treiso from which Poderi Colla sources from their six-hectare parcel, spanning the entire range of the cru’s elevation from 200 to 250 meters in elevation."
- 93 points – Vinous: "The Colla family's 2018 Barbaresco Roncaglie packs quite a punch in its deceptively medium-bodied frame. A burst of cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, herbs, and dried cherry fruit makes a great first impression. The 2018 is going to need a few years to soften. It is unusually firm today, and yet full of promise for the future. All this needs is a bit of patience."
