Field Recordings is a forward-thinking winery founded by winemaker Andrew Jones, known for its innovative approach to California wine. With a focus on bringing out the raw, unfiltered essence of the grape, Field Recordings produces wines that are full of character, authenticity, and creativity. Their 'SKINS' label is a unique expression of skin contact winemaking, pushing boundaries while honoring California’s diverse terroirs.
A crisp orange wine perfect to pair with spicy foods, springtime, and... well, anything. It will make you a believer in non-red wines. Field Recordings uses a mix of white grapes from different vineyards that the winemakers de-stem and ferment on skins, resulting in a beautiful showcase of all the delicate flavors of white wine, but with more substance and texture.

- TERROIR: Central Coast, California—this region benefits from a cool coastal climate, with fog influence from the Pacific Ocean ensuring slow ripening and retention of acidity. The soils are diverse, with a mix of sandy loam and limestone, ideal for producing expressive white wines.
- VINIFICATION: The grapes are fermented on their skins for an extended period (15–30 days), allowing for the extraction of color, texture, and complexity. Native yeasts are used, with no fining or filtering.
- AGING: Aged in neutral oak barrels for 6 months, allowing the wine to develop complexity without imparting heavy oak influence.
- TASTING NOTES: Aromas of fresh apricot, citrus zest, and white flowers mingle with a touch of herbal complexity. The palate is vibrant and textured, with flavors of green apple, pear, and a hint of spice, balanced by a crisp, mineral-driven finish. The skin contact adds a subtle tannic structure, giving the wine body and depth.
