Best known for their powerful, old-vine Zinfandels, Turley also produces a small amount of dry rosé from organically farmed vineyards across California. Made with the same attention to site and detail as their reds, this rosé is vibrant, zesty, and bone dry—with a nod to Provence, but undeniably Californian in character.
-
WINEMAKER: Tegan Passalacqua
-
FARMING: Certified Organic; all vineyards hand-farmed by the Turley team
-
VARIETY: 100% Zinfandel
-
TERROIR: Sourced from a selection of organically farmed old-vine Zinfandel vineyards across California, including sites in Lodi, Paso Robles, and Mendocino. Vine age ranges from 40 to over 100 years old, grown primarily on sandy loam and decomposed granite soils.
-
VINIFICATION: Grapes are picked early and whole-cluster pressed directly to tank; fermented with native yeasts at cool temperatures to preserve acidity and aromatics.
-
AGING: Aged in stainless steel and neutral oak for 4–5 months on lees. No malolactic fermentation.
-
TASTING NOTES: Aromas of wild strawberry, watermelon rind, white pepper, and grapefruit zest. The palate is crisp and saline, with tart red berries, citrus peel, and a stony, refreshing finish. Dry, bright, and built for the table.
-
FOOD PAIRINGS: Prosciutto and melon, fish tacos, Niçoise salad, or grilled halloumi with mint
-
SCORES:
-
Wine Spectator (2023): 91 – “Zippy and focused, with mouthwatering acidity and vivid berry fruit.” (2024 not yet reviewed)
-
