Champagne Mangin et Fils is a fifth-generation, family-owned grower estate based in Leuvrigny, in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne. Led by Denis Mangin and his family, the domaine produces expressive, terroir-driven Champagnes that celebrate the fruit and finesse of Pinot Meunier from their hillside vineyards overlooking the Marne River. ‘Effervescence des Terroirs’ is their signature cuvée—an elegant grower Champagne that captures the vitality and texture of this storied region.
- WINEMAKER: Denis Mangin & family
- FARMING: Sustainable and environmentally conscious; grass cover between vineyard rows and minimal use of treatments to promote biodiversity and soil health.
- VARIETY: Predominantly Pinot Meunier with smaller portions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
- TERROIR: Estate-grown fruit from Leuvrigny, on clay-limestone and chalk soils typical of the Vallée de la Marne. The combination of chalky substrata and south-facing slopes provides ripeness, depth, and tension.
- VINIFICATION: Each grape variety and parcel is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The final cuvée is a blend of multiple vintages to balance freshness and maturity. Secondary fermentation occurs in bottle following the traditional méthode champenoise.
- AGING: Aged for a minimum of 30 months on the lees before disgorgement to develop texture and autolytic complexity. Finished with a low dosage to emphasize purity and minerality.
- TASTING NOTES: Aromas of yellow fruits such as quince, pear, golden apple, and white flowers such as honeysuckle mingle with brioche and hazelnut. It then evolves towards a great freshness characterized by light notes of grapefruit. The palate is creamy yet bright, showing notes of baked orchard fruit, citrus zest, and chalky minerality with a long, vibrant finish.
- FOOD PAIRINGS: Beautiful as an apéritif or paired with oysters, sushi, roasted chicken, or soft cheeses
