Henri Bourgeois 'Pure' Pinot Noir Rosé, Val de Loire, France 2025
Rooted in Chavignol since 1696, Famille Bourgeois is among the Loire Valley's most storied estates, built into an internationally recognized name through ten generations of commitment to Sancerre and its surrounding appellations. Henri Bourgeois established the domaine in its modern form in the 1950s from just two hectares on the hillsides of Chavignol; his sons Jean-Marie and Rémi expanded the holdings through the 1960s, and today Arnaud, Lionel, and Jean-Christophe Bourgeois oversee 72 hectares across Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé. The 'Pure' range represents the family's entry-level expression — fruit-forward, accessible, and true to Loire character — produced under the broader IGP Val de Loire designation.
WINEMAKER: Arnaud, Lionel, and Jean-Christophe Bourgeois
FARMING: Certified Organic
VARIETY: 100% Pinot Noir
TERROIR: IGP Val de Loire. Pinot Noir vines grown on clay and limestone hillsides of the Loire Valley. The Val de Loire's continental climate provides warm summers and cool nights, preserving aromatic freshness and natural acidity.
VINIFICATION: Brief cold maceration in stainless steel to extract pale pink color. Alcoholic fermentation carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats at 16–17°C to preserve fruit aromatics.
AGING: 3–4 months in stainless steel vats prior to bottling.
TASTING NOTES: Bright pale salmon-pink. Aromas of small red fruits, rose petal, and a subtle mineral lift. The palate is fresh and crisp with light body and a clean, mineral finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Versatile at the table — grilled chicken, poached salmon, seafood tempura, Vietnamese spring rolls, and light Asian preparations.
