J. Moss is a boutique Napa Valley producer focused on small-lot, single-vineyard wines. Proprietor and winemaker James W. Moss brings careful attention to detail and balance, resulting in a rosé that expresses both the structure and vibrant fruit of Cabernet Sauvignon in a refreshingly dry style.
WINEMAKER: James W. Moss
FARMING: Sustainable
VARIETY: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
TERROIR: Sourced from a selection of key single vineyard sites spanning the lower hills of Napa Valley, including Coombsville and Oakville.
VINIFICATION: Produced via saignée method from hand-picked, hand-sorted Cabernet Sauvignon lots. Juice was separated from the skins and chilled, then slowly fermented at very cold temperatures in four different lots using artisan yeasts (over an average of 70 days) in 100% stainless steel.
AGING: Aged cold in stainless steel on lees with bi-weekly stirring for added richness and texture. No malolactic fermentation to preserve crisp acidity.
TASTING NOTES: Layered and bold, with complex depth of juicy fruits and a bright, refreshing acid structure. Silky, full mouthfeel and notable weight. Lower alcohol style, highly refreshing, and age-worthy for a rosé.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Versatile—excellent with BBQ, spicy dishes, salads, charcuterie, and cheese plates.
